My name is Mike Cockrell. Some of you know me as Moonshiner Mike. I am one of the actors on Discovery Channel’s’ Moonshiners. This journey started for me in 2016 and I am currently still involved. Being a part of the show has given me multiple opportunities across the board. From going legal in the moonshine industry, to owning a seasoning company, and so much more to come.

I have branded legal moonshine labels with Copper Creek Distillery in Marion North Carolina which I am extremely proud to be a part of. I also co-own a seasoning company called Marsh Magic Products, which I am also very proud of. I am from the Deep South of Mississippi, so cooking runs in my veins. This is where Marsh Magic takes place. I can cook and use my very own product that I love at the same time.

Cooking has been a passion of mine since I was a little boy. I remember standing on a chair watching my grandparents cooking in their kitchen. I knew then I wanted to be a cook. Through them I also found my passion for moonshining. My grandfather was a bootlegger in Mississippi and my grandmother helped my great-grandfather make moonshine when she was a little girl. That’s how the history of moonshining started in my family. Through all the trials and troubles and the road that I’ve been down, has lead me to be the successful moonshiner that I am today. All the way from watching my family folks cook, whether it be food or shine, it all flows together like fine wine and it all just gets better with time.
